Over the years the Mechner Foundation has conducted joint research and other collaborative projects with researchers at various major universities including University of North Texas, Barnard College, Columbia University, Queens College, Swansea University, The University of New Hampshire, New York University, and Temple University. The Mechner Foundation was instrumental in the founding of the Blacksmith Institute in 1999 and has contributed to other scientific and cultural organizations. It has an ongoing relationship with the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies.
